Feature Announcement: Manage all suppressed recipients in one place
For our first big release of 2020, we are moving ever closer to our public launch of API Bulk email by adding the ability to manage all your suppressed recipients for a specific message stream in one place. Let’s dig in and see what’s new!
The first thing you’ll notice in the UI is a new Suppressions tab within each of your message streams. This tab shows all inactive addresses for that stream, as well as the reason why they’re inactive — and if possible, a button to reactivate them.
Clicking on a specific email address will show you detailed information about what’s going on, and what you can do about it:
Something else that’s brand new is that you can now manually add recipients to the suppression list. Let’s say you have a test email or a distribution list that you want to make sure you never accidentally send messages to, you can add that via the UI:
Once we launch our API Bulk feature recipients who have unsubscribed from your emails will also show up in the main Suppressions list. The list is searchable by address, and you can also export the data in JSON format.
But that’s not all… not to bury the lede too much, but we also released a brand new /suppressions API endpoint to manage all of this via the API. You can find full documentation for the new endpoint here, but in short, here’s what you can do:
- Get a list of all suppressed addresses
- Add addresses to the suppression list manually
- Remove eligible addresses from the suppression list (reactivate an address)
